Product Review-Davines Shampoo Bar

Shampoo Bars have now been around for a little while. And, don’t get me wrong, I get how they are so much better for the planet in the simple straight forward way that they have no plastic packaging…. however I have always been a tad reticent to try one out: this may be due to that fact that I have tried to wash my hair with actually soap before, which I do not recommend, it ends up in an odd combo of dry, greasy and tacky hair. I think the similarity in aesthetic between a bar of soap and the Shampoo Bar is what has made me take so long to give it a go.

However, I do love basically all of Davines’ products, they smell great, always do what they say on the tin, and have never left my hair tacky. So, I got me a bar of the Davines Shampoo Bar, and gave it a go. (and they are ethical & sustainable. Editor’s note)

I changed nothing else to my hair washing routine… I don’t really have routine, what I mean is I still shampooed twice and used my normal conditioner, so that only one factor changed and I could acertain with complete certainty wether or not I enjoyed the product

So here is a picture of me before I entered the shower, very au natural, no makeup and rather greasy hair.

So I hopped into my shower and proceeded to start washing my hair. I rubbed the bar a tiny bit directly to my head, but then just worked it between my hands to gather a good soapy lather. It foamed less that a traditional shampoo, but as you can see from my below (again make-up less) selfie, my hair is looking clean and fresh and rather thick afterwards.

So if you want to be your best eco warrior self, this shampoo bar seems to be a good, easy way to start!

Have a lovely day.
