Today I want to tell you more about an exciting service we introduced to our salon a few months ago. It’s called KERASTRAIGHT.
This is a brilliant product which will help all clients who have unruly frizzy hair. It’s not a chemical permanent straightening service, so it won’t get rid of your curl completely. Treatments will reduce between 50 and 80 percent of the curl depending on the original hair texture.The aim is to soften curls and reduce frizz.
So how doese it work?
It works by injecting pure keratin (the substance that exists naturally in nails, skin and hair) into your hair, and sealing it using a hot iron. So the process is nourishing, not punishing to your hair.
Why does Keratin have such amazing results? Because is the primary protein of the skin and hair.The application and straightening process ensures the Keratin strengthens the hair. Moisture is sealed into the hair cuticle, leaving the hair a lot more manageable.
What will happen at your appointment?
The process takes between 2hr-4hr, depending on how much hair you have. Your hair is washed with a clarifying shampoo which opens the cuticle of the hair, helping the product to penetrate. It’s then rinsed, dried, and the keratin solution is painted onto the hair and combed through, then left to process for up to 30 min. Your hair is then roughly blow dried and straightened with irons. The heat of the straighteners activates and seals the solution into the hair, making it an essential part of the process.
How long does it last?
Depending on hair type and frequency of washing, between two and four months. But you must ensure you use sodium, phosphate and paraben free shampoo as ones containing sodium chloride can strip away the keratin.
I recommend Matrix Keratine Dose shampoo which combines in the same bottle silk and keratine. Silk is the strongest natural fibre find in nature and Keratin is the main component of the hair (about 85%) Combining those 2 ingredients together reinforces the Keratin bond which strengthens the damaged hair while the silk smoothes and conditions the hair.
After the Keratin treatment, styling of your hair becomes a lot more easy with minimal amounts of blow drying. Your hair will have much improved resiliency; and will no longer be affected by rain, humidity or sweat. This is the beginning of the end to frizzy hair!
And the extra good news is that KeraStraight contains no formaldehydes or aldehydes whatsoever, so it is completely safe both for you and your hairdresser.
